The New Product Introduction (NPI) process is a fundamental part of our business at Nitronica.

NPI Team:

Our NPI team consists of a Director, Manager, Commercial Estimators and Engineers. Our engineers have a blend of electrical and mechanical expertise. Our NPI team responsibilities include the front end commercial activities such as quote preparation and associated material sourcing. Furthermore, once an order is received for a product never previously produced, we operate a system where an NPI Engineer project manages the first production build.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The NPI Engineer has the responsibility through the Stage Gate Management process for ensuring that all systems and processes are put in place to fully hand over the product to production for future orders.  This includes; setting up the supply chain and ordering and tracking of components and tooling, refining the production process, all relevant programming of equipment, MRP updates (Inventory Masters & Bill of Materials), supply chain, work instructions, test procedures and overcoming any production snags.

Engineering Changes:

Our NPI team also co-ordinate the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.

Value Added:

Most of our value-added activities such as Cost Reduction, Design for Manufacture, Design and Supply Chain are co-ordinated through the NPI Department once again highlighting the importance that this dynamic, skilled and flexible team have within our business.
