The Directors and staff of Nitronica said their goodbyes to Mr Brian Getty this week as he stepped down from his role as Non-Executive Chairman of the company after over 14 years’ dedicated service.

Brian joined the team at Nitronica shortly after the local management team had completed a Management Buy-Out from Viasystems Inc in the USA. He worked in the industry for many years at STC in Belfast, Belgium and other locations around the world, before starting up his own company, Getty Connections in the late 1980s, which he grew into a very successful business before eventually selling to Marmon Industries in the late 1990s.

Brian will be missed around the factory for his friendly and fatherly approach which made him popular with people at all levels of the organisation.

“Board meetings just won’t be the same without Brian, who always seemed to have a pearl of wisdom to impart at critical times. We all learned a lot from him over the years and it’s safe to say that the company wouldn’t be in the strong position it is today without Brian’s vital input. As a person, Brian is one of the most affable people you could wish to meet. We’ll all miss him about the place and he’ll always be welcome to drop in for a coffee when he’s passing. On behalf of the board and the staff of Nitronica, I’d just like to thank Brian for his many years of service and valuable contributions to the company and to wish him and Ellen a long, happy and healthy retirement.”
